Meet The Founders
Prateek Sharma
Prateek Sharma is the Founder of RedKnot Tourism and brings over 15 years of experience across the African travel industry. His career began in online travel agencies before expanding into corporate travel management, destination management, and tourism operations focused on promoting Africa to global travellers. Throughout his journey, he has successfully established and managed five travel and tourism companies across the continent, helping build and scale their operations across luxury travel, corporate travel, and African market development.
His connection with Africa began in Congo (Kinshasa), where he managed travel programs associated with the United Nations. What started as a professional opportunity quickly evolved into a lifelong passion. Over the past 15 years, Prateek has lived and worked across Congo, Benin, Cameroon, Tanzania, Namibia, and South Africa, gaining deep cultural insight and firsthand experience of the continent's extraordinary diversity. Since 2017, South Africa has been his home.
For Prateek, RedKnot Tourism is more than a business; it is a personal mission to build meaningful connections between India and Africa through tourism, cultural exchange, and responsible travel. His vision is to create authentic, thoughtfully curated journeys that support local communities while showcasing the continent's beauty, wildlife, culture, and spirit.

Vishal Jobanputra
Some people stumble into travel. Vishal Jobanputra built a life around creating things that last.
As a third-generation textile entrepreneur with 25 years of hands-on business experience, Vishal understands craft, legacy, and attention to detail at a cellular level. His parallel journey as a real estate developer sharpened something else entirely, the ability to see potential in a place before anyone else does.
RedKnot Tourism is where both worlds collide.
Vishal is someone with a deep passion for travelling and exploration, founded RedKnot with a singular belief: that travel should feel like more than a trip. Whether it's tracing ancient heritage trails, immersing in living cultures, indulging in curated luxury, or chasing adrenaline through raw landscape — every RedKnot experience is built with the precision of a craftsman and the vision of a developer.

Jessica Detering
Jessica was born and raised in Namibia and now based in South Africa, brings a unique blend of creativity, regional knowledge, and adventurous spirit to RedKnot Tourism. Having travelled to more than twenty countries in just over a decade and lived in five, her passion for travel has always been driven by a love for authentic experiences, diverse cultures, and meaningful human connections.
With a strong appreciation for both adventure and luxury travel, Jessica believes the most memorable journeys combine untamed experiences with comfort and thoughtful detail. From exploring the Caribbean, India, Hong Kong and Australia, among others, to travelling extensively across Southern Africa, her perspective has been shaped through firsthand experience and curiosity for the world around her.
A largely self-taught creative and entrepreneur, Jessica relocated to Cape Town in 2017 and has since built brands rooted in storytelling, design, and connection. Her philosophy aligns closely with RedKnot’s vision of creating immersive journeys that go beyond checklists and encourage travellers to truly experience Africa.
Neelesh Chorghade
Architecture teaches you one thing above all else, that great spaces don't just exist. They're imagined, designed, and built with intention.
Neelesh Chorghade has spent 20+ years doing exactly that. As a practicing architect and real estate developer, he has shaped spaces that people live in, work in, and remember. But alongside every blueprint and every project, there was always a parallel passion, travel.
Not travel as an escape. Travel as exploration.
Over two decades, Neelesh built something rare: a deep, personal understanding of destinations, their rhythms, their hidden corners, their authentic experiences, and a loyal community of clients who trusted his eye for quality and detail.
